Objective and Scope:
The end client, a government organization in one of the Middle East countries, aimed to implement several initiatives to enhance the vehicle safety practices. To meet this objective, they wanted to understand the best practices for vehicle safety standards and how different countries/governments apply them. For this, it sought Benori’s support to:
- Shortlist leading countries or organizations with best-in-class vehicle safety practices and conduct research and an in-depth review of their vehicle safety standards and practices
- Create a report capturing the best-in-class vehicle safety practices of these leading countries/organizations
Approach:
We conducted extensive research to understand the vehicle safety practices of leading countries globally and created a benchmarking framework to rank and identify leading countries and organizations with best-in-class vehicle safety standards. These countries and organizations were assessed for requirements on periodic inspection, minimum safety standards, safety rate cards, and maintenance workshops.
Impact:
The report helped the client to:
- Understand the best-in-class vehicle safety standards and practices across the globe
- Assess the need for vehicle safety and key learning from the countries with best-in-class practices
- Use the report for planning their strategy for creating suitable legislation around vehicle safety standards
