Objective and Scope:
The client, a global advisory firm, was working with a leading consumer goods company on their organizational design. For this, it wanted Benori's support in:
- Conducting a benchmarking study of five to six retail global captive centers (GCCs) in terms of organizational structure, talent, and compensation
- Studying the Indian Staff Selection Commission (SSC) team supporting the human resource (HR) processes for different functions, including marketing, finance, etc.
Approach:
We conducted secondary research to identify and determine details around HR functional structure and regional alignment, hiring trends, compensation ranges, etc. We then conducted in-depth expert interviews with C-1 and C-2 level executives across each company to understand the organization structure, talent (current and future skills or roles), and compensation (salary range, perks, variable ratios, etc.). We captured the data in Excel and created an organization-wide alignment structure for each company.
Impact:
The research helped the client in:
- Getting a comparative view of the HR function of retail companies
- Strategic planning of the HR function of their own GCC in terms of structure, talent groups, and compensation mix
